We use SCCM 2012 with Software Updates configured for our server environment. Maintenance windows are configured for these servers.
Software updates are configured so that no restart will occur outside of the maintenance windows, even if the deadline has been reached.
However, i'm noticing on our Win2K12 servers it can be the case that when you log into them a message appears advising about a restart being required, and a fifteen minute countdown starts. I can click close on this window, and open the icon in the
system tray and select any of the postpone options. But the server still restarts after 15 minutes. Because we're running a production server environment, having servers begin a 15 minute countdown if you happen to log into them isn't really suitable.
I'm at a loss how to prevent this happening, can anyone advise?
