I am trying to understand how SCCM interacts with WSUS and leverages WSUS as part of Microsoft patch mgmt. I have SCCM 2012 setup to apply monthly Windows Patches. At firstwas having trouble getting SCCM to deploy the patches. At one point
I had redirected SCCM to point to the WSUSContent folder on our old standalone WSUS Server rather than the local SCCM dedicated WSUS install. What I was finding is that the local WSUS Server was not populating the WSUSContent Folder. Didn't take
much digging to find the setting under Options/Update Files and Languages where the Check box for "Download update files to this server only when updates are approved"! Well how is one supposed to correctly get around that one? My understanding
is that it is bad practice to do approvals and declines etc in the WSUS interface that is leveraged by SCCM. What is the correct configuration of this WSUS Server so that it will download the files and populate the WSUSContent Folder.
