WSUS synchronization issue - Unable to connect to the remote server

Hi,

We are facing the WSUS synchronization issue on SCCM 2012 r2 sp1 primary server. Error is as below –

“Sync failed: UssCommunicationError: WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 10.xx.xx.xx:80~~at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream(TransportContext& context). Source: Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.SoftwareUpdatesManagement.WsusSyncAction.WSyncAction.SyncWSUS”

To check whether it is proxy issue we configured new WSUS server and configured the same proxy then checked synchronization. Synchronization start working from new server but not working on primary server.

Please note – Synchronization was working on primary server earlier. We had faced the synchronization issue one month before that time we reinstalled the WSUS and issue got resoled.

So now wanted to understand the root cause of failure without reinstalling WSUS.

Please suggest if anyone has observed such issue.

FYI – Site is having additional SUP to manage internet client who is using the same DB of primary server.
