Inherited a SCCM 2012 R2 Infrastructure and Software Updates Don't work

Hi there,

Software update deployments to client machines weren't working because of the standard

"Group policy settings were overwritten by a higher authority (Domain Controller) to: Server http:-------.etc"

Now I have disabled settings in the GPO to 'Specify intranet Microsoft update service location'

so they are undefined and now software update deployment is completely broken for the entire estate.

All I see in the WUAHandler on clients is

"CWuaHandler::SetCategoriesForStateReportingExclusion called with E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B;E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B,A38C835C-2950-4E87-86CC-6911A52C34A3; for leaves and E0789628-CE08-4437-BE74-2495B842F43B,A38C835C-2950-4E87-86CC-6911A52C34A3; for bundles"

I am going round and round in circles trying articles that don't fix it or aren't relevant and there are no proxies defined for our network.

It's be great if someone could give me some advice.
