On only some desktop clients I recieved errors in the ScanAgent.log, WUAHandler.log and the WindowsUpdate.log
OnSearchComplete - Failed to end search job. Error = 0x80244018
ScanAgent.log CScanAgent::ScanCompleteCallback - failed at OnScanComplete with error=0x87d00631
After comparing working clients logs with non-working clients I found that all the ones that all the ones that
FAILED = Server URL = HTTP://SITESERVER.FULLY.QUALIFIED.DOMAIN:80/ClientWebService/client.asmx
SUCCESSFUL = Server URL = HTTP://SITESERVER.fully.qualified.domain:80/ClientWebService/client.asmx
I considered that the difference was the Upper case vs. Lower case
We use a Wpad with our proxy. I added the site server in all Upper case to the list. ONCE I RESTARTED the machines they began working successfully. I don't understand why the proxy comes into play other than it is calling an HTTP address but clearly it does.
The Forums seemed vague on any solution to this error so I thought I would post my solution.
