Good day.
We have several servers that are at status Unknown in our Windows Updates deployments in SCCM 2012 R2. A lot of these PCs seem to be W2k8R2 machines.
The client status is at Active. I can invoke the actions in the SCCM control panel on those servers. However, when I try to run the Software Updates Scan cycle, I get the following error:
Failed to Add Update Source for WUAgent of type (2) and id ({GUID}). Error = 0x8007000d. WUAHandler 1/27/2016 11:17:58 AM 2440 (0x0988)
I checked, and the Windows Updates service is running correctly.
I have reinstalled the SCCM client on various machines, to now avail. However, I think the client is installed correctly and is working correctly, at least in part.
I have run WMIDIag on a server that is not experiencing issues and on a server that is, with the same OS, and the reports basically come up the same, with the same errors in the same places.
When searching for updates online through Windows Updates, I receive a list of updates to install (105 recommended, 5 optional). Previous to that, I had to upgrade the Windows Updates client, which I did (just in case that fixes the issue).
I've looked online, and found no real help for this issue (apart from running wmidiag). Has anyone seen this before, and resolved it?
