Windows updates errors

Hi,

We are trying to deploy some Windows 8.1 updates to our clients and have the following issue.  

The clients happily download the updates into the CCM cache folder and also display the update as being available in Software Center.  However, when the deadline comes along and the update tries to install, it errors with a '0x80070643' shown in the updatedeployment.log file.  This is happening for all clients (small number as still in testing phase) with the same symptoms.  If you try and manually rerun the install from the Software Center, the install fails and the same error is displayed. It is also evident in the Event Viewer.

The clients are all in the correct collection where the updates are targeted and there are no maintenance windows applied.  All updates have been downloaded into a package are are on the distribution point where the clients are successfully downloading them from.  The problem occurs at the point of install on the client and is happening on all 6 of the test updates, with the same error.  The logs detail the SCCM Server correctly as the WSUS server on port 8530, but the updates always fail to install.

Both Endpoint definition updates (using SCCM / WSUS) and software deployments are working correctly, it is just any Windows Updates that seem to fail.  Please could some advice be offered?
