After trying to deploy Dell updates, and failing horribly I am going to redo the Software Update components which includes WSUS. This issue I am having is missing dependencies with Dell detectoids.
I suspect I need to do the following:
Remove the Software Update role from WSUS
Delete any items from Software Updates and wait a bit of time for this, then delete any directories used by Software Updates role.
Uninstall SCUP and remove its database (per user, gah! thanks Microsoft)
Uninstall WSUS and delete its database (If anybody has ideas as to how to do a cleanup, that would be handy)
Anything else I might need to take care of? Oh, and I should backup the SCUP 2011 certificate.
The configuration is:
Stand-alone SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 on Server 2008 R2
WSUS is on Server 2008 R2
SQL is on a different server
One other thought, instead of doing WSUS on 2008, just move to Server 2012 for that anyway.
Does this plan look right? Or have I a few steps out of order.
Thanks!
