we have many sites that have small circuits on the WAN.
when distributing packages to DPs we know sccm uses BITS.
We are under a 10% available bandwidth restriction during business hours. we noticed that the size of the package being sent is 1048576 bytes or 98xxxx bytes. most of the time the available bandwidth for SCCM is below that and packages take many hours or days to get there.
we already use prestaging for the DPs. the problem are anti-virus definition updates for FCS and SCEP, both packages average 208 Mb with every pattern update, so we can't get the packages there timely and of course it just jams up distribution.
We thought that perhaps if we can make the bits package smaller then there would be greated success at getting the data to the DP.
any advice is appreciated.
